Jim Rawson
Jim is an experienced creative professional with over 15 years’ experience in design, marketing and publishing.
Following an art & design degree from the University of Plymouth, Jim has pursued a creative career, initially working as an editor and sub-editor on a number of publications, then moving into graphic and web design positions with Manx Telecom and Santander.
Jim joined PDMS in 2005 and in his role as Design Manager is responsible for ensuring great user experiences across all digital projects. He has a breadth of skills and experience which help with this, primarily in graphic and information design; these are complemented by ‘front-end’ development skills (HTML & CSS), copywriting, knowledge of search engine optimisation (SEO) and digital marketing.
This unique combination of design, technical and journalistic experience has led to being quoted in industry journals, including B2B Marketing: he has also taught HND courses and delivered workshops on design.
Jim is an accredited eBusiness consultant with the Isle of Man Government’s Business Support Scheme and has a number of professional certifications including Adobe and Umbraco Level 1. Like many of our staff he is familiar with both agile and waterfall project approaches, having worked on award-winning PDMS software projects in the public and private sectors.
Outside the office Jim enjoys the great outdoors and has also been known to play the guitar and banjo – although not at the same time!
