PDMS R&R Newsletter | March 2019 | News, events and moreWednesday March 27th 2019
Hello and welcome to our first R&R newsletter of 2019.
We have had a busy few months working on new thought leadership, enhancements to our services and a busy events schedule.
In today’s digital society, many organisations are playing catch-up to change their businesses to become truly digital, removing multiple historic systems and replacing them with a single integrated browser-based solution. Industry research confirms that companies who invest in truly digital systems are better placed to deal with rising demand for their services, including new online services while managing pressurised budgets.
As a technology company, we believe that many businesses have not fully realised the convenience of online services and the benefits for their customers. Please read our online services whitepaper to learn more about the benefits offered by business change through digitalisation.
Financial Intelligence Software
We have recently added a new platform portfolio to our R&R solutions. Our sophisticated and secure THEMIS platform allows Financial Intelligence Units (FIU’s) to manage their anti-money laundering and counterterrorist financing activities, while importantly providing a solution which demonstrates compliance with MONEYVAL, MOPI and GDPR.
Digital Signing service now live
PDMS R&R are delighted to announce that the IOM Ship Registry (IOMSR) has become one of the first leading flag states to issue digital certificates including full digital signatures. This has been provided using a combination of PDMS’ MARIS software for international ship registries and PDMS’ latest digital signing service.
PDMS R&R worked closely with the registry to ensure that the ‘Digital Certification and Signing Service’ provided is fully aligned with IMO regulatory guidelines. This complete digital certification and signing service puts the IOMSR at the forefront of international ship registries and delivers considerable benefits to them and their customers including:
- Identity validation and security – providing proof of the validity of a certificate and the IOMSR as the signing entity
- Efficiency and speed of service – provision of crucial certificate documents which means that a certificate can be onboard a vessel within minutes
- Cost savings – digital service provision is far cheaper, for example, removing the need to courier documents around the world
- Attractiveness – customers are looking for such modern and beneficial digital services

MARIS platform update: Online incident reports and deficiency closure requests
We are always looking for ways to move our core solutions forwards and provide additional benefits to our clients and the services they provide.
Our latest enhancements to our product offerings have seen us add new features to the MARIS platform, including the ability to submit ‘online incident reports’ and ‘deficiency closure requests’.
Please contact Catriona to learn more about MARIS and our services for global ship registries.
